18:30 – 21:00
Join us for our Welcome Reception in the Haida Gwaii Salon of the Canadian Museum of History. The museum is an architectural wonder, the creation of the world-famous Indigenous Canadian architect, Douglas Cardinal. This is a fully private CAPD/ACDP event.
Shuttle buses will transport you to and from the Canadian Museum of History. Alternately, if Mother Nature co-operates, enjoy a pleasant fall walk along the beautiful Parliament Hill and waterfront areas and crossing the Ottawa River to the museum.
Our reception is held in the Haida Gwaii Salon overlooking the outstanding vistas of the Ottawa River and Parliament Hill. We will also have exclusive access to “From Time Immemorial”, a recreation of an archeological “dig” of an ancient Tsimshian civilization. We will also explore “First Peoples of the Northwest Coast”, an exhibition of six iconic Native houses connected by a Pacific Coast shoreline and boardwalk.
Be sure to bring your camera to capture the many vistas along your way and at the museum for what promises to be a very special evening.
